Terms and Conditions

While we would prefer to operate in an environment free from rules and regulation, in order to protect the quality of our service and our relationship with our valued customers, we ask that you please read carefully before accepting any quote from CBL Removals. We will always try to remain adaptable and understanding to your unique needs.

    • Official (written) quotes are valid for 20 days.
    • Additional costs will be negotiated if the following has not been disclosed to us at the time of compiling your quote:
      • Premises above second floor
      • Hoisting of furniture over balcony 
      • Loading more than 25 meters from front door – refer to 4
      • Exceptionally large, heavy or unusually shaped items (e.g. sleeper wood furniture)
      • Packing and/or boxes or wrapping required
      • Disconnecting or reconnecting of electrical/plumbed appliances
      • Dismantling and assembling of furniture
      • Additional items not specified on original inventory list
    • Please be as thorough as possible when compiling your inventory list
    • Changes to the inventory list need to be communicated to us in order to ensure the correct staff and vehicle is reserved for your move
    • Changes to your inventory may have a direct impact on the quote supplied to you – refer to 1.2
    • All items are assumed to be of a nature that 2 loaders are able to carry and load. If not, please advise in good time.
    • Items of great value (e.g. antique furniture) need to be identified within the inventory as additional insurance may be required – refer to 9
    • Please ensure that boxes are not overloaded – 1 loader should be able to lift and carry
    • Please ensure boxes containing fragile items are marked clearly and packed and placed upright
    • Please ensure that ALL small valuable and personal items are removed by yourselves or are packed in sealed boxes
    • While do our utmost to protect your items from being soiled, we highly recommend that light-coloured fabric items are wrapped in plastic, which can be arranged prior to the move, to avoid dust transfer from other items
    • We are able to assist with packing of your belongings however this will only be done if arranged at the time of requesting the quotation
    • Please note that it is your responsibility to inform us if trucks/trailers are not permitted to enter your complex and to confirm any height/weight restrictions at either premises
    • Please ensure you have completed necessary form required by your landlord if applicable, an extra charge will be incurred for a delay of over 30 minutes
    • Should the distance from our vehicle to your front door exceed 25m, please notify us prior to your move to confirm whether
    • A shuttle will be required as this will be quoted and booked at the time of confirming your move
    • Please ensure that there is suitable parking space for our vehicles (6.5m to 8.5m)
    • Please ensure that low hanging branches that could damage our vehicles and that could restrict our access to your property are removed
    • While we do our utmost to ensure a punctual arrival, the estimated time of arrival may vary as dependent on factors such as traffic, weather and cooperation of other customers who may be moved prior to you. Your patience is highly favoured
    • Please ensure that we are able to contact you should we require directions while en-route
    • Please ensure that plumbing is disconnected prior to your move
    • Please ensure that exceptionally large or heavy pots have been emptied of soil and plants where possible.
    • Please ensure that all items are removed from fridge’s, freezers and drawers of furniture
    • Please note that it is your responsibility to inspect both premises prior to our departure to ensure no items have stayed behind
    • You have the right to check our vehicle/s prior to our departure to ensure all items have been offloaded
    • Please contact us prior to making your deposit to ensure your chosen date is still available
    • Deposit : 50% to be paid in order to accept the quotation and secure the date of your move
    • Please note : Your move will not be confirmed until the deposit is received
    • Balance: 50% to be paid prior to off-loading. Cash or EFT (for EFT, proof of payment must be provided) – any delays to this payment could result in an extra charge – please remember our drivers have a strict schedule to follow
    • Please note: Your items will not be offloaded until the remaining balance of payment has been made
    • Should payment not be made as per 7.4, your consignment will be placed in storage and you will be liable for the costs incurred for the storage period up until payment is made. You will also be liable for the costs of re-delivering the consignment
    • We regret we do not accept Cheques or Cheque Deposits
    • For moves booked to take place between the 28th and the 2nd of any given month, cancellations need to be made at least 48 hours prior to the move
    • For moves booked to take place during the remaining dates of the month, cancellations need to be made at least 36 hours prior to the move
    • Cancellations made in less time than stipulated in 8.1 and 8.2, forfeit the deposit

  • CBL Removals is insured by OUTSURANCE. Your load will be insured up to the value of R100,000 and will be covered while in-transit against:
    • Hi-Jack
    • Fire and Theft
    • Accident
  • All-Risk Insurance is optional and can be arranged and quoted for by CBL prior to the move. While our staff are highly trained to handle your belongings with care, accidents do happen and All-Risk Insurance can cover for these rare eventualities
  • Damages must be identified at the time of the move, prior to our departure
  • Items of great value (e.g. antiques) must be identified at the time of requesting the quotation as additional in transit insurance may need to be arranged
    • By accepting our quotation, you warrant that:
      • The goods removed are your property or,
      • You have the authority of the owner (in writing) in respect of the goods being moved
      • You will indemnify us in respect of any damages and/or costs if these warranties are not true
